Beautiful Music is a Beautiful Thing

Unexpected things happen in every preschool. Sometimes those unexpected things are a drag. A water pipe freezes and bursts, for example. Usually those unexpected things just bring a bit of spice to the day, in a good way.

Today while the children were arriving, Pandora Radio shuffled between classical and operatic music. When Luciano Pavarotti sang O Sole Mio, I had no choice but to sing along. When Luciano and I finished, I said, to no one in particular, “I love beautiful music.” Sophie had been playing nearby on the floor, seemingly uninvolved in my musical moment. She stopped playing, looked up, and responded in a most unexpected and profound way. Vicki and I were bowled over. “That would be a wonderful Tweet, Sophie,” Vicki said.

She was right.
