A Fantastic Festival

Bright and early Saturday morning Vicki and I packed up the green Soul and headed over to Stratham Hill Park for the first Rett’s Roost Spooktacular Kids Festival. We had multiple marshmallow launchers, hundreds of marshmallows for launching, and a diving-ring-hula-hoop target. Best of all, we had a gloriously beautiful day.

IMG_9953 There were an estimated 1,200 people in attendance, many of them little children looking for fun. They painted pumpkins, had their own faces painted, played a target toss game, enjoyed BJ Hickman’s Magic Show, and rode the train. And from 10 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon they launched marshmallows in our corner of the fairground.

You can see that a couple of Hogarth kids found their way to the launch pad. They were super happy to hear we’ll be launching marshmallows at our Halloween party in a few weeks.

Thank you so much to all the Hogarth folks who supported our efforts to support Rett’s Roost. We raised over $300 for this wonderful nonprofit! After meeting Deana, one of Rett’s Roost’s founders, and seeing the dedication and commitment of the Roost’s volunteers, I am confident that this organization is going to grow into an important support for area families dealing with a childhood cancer diagnosis.
